The Brief - To redesign a neglected Infant school Playground.

The playground was enclosed by large old brick buildings and divided between a hard black wetpour area and a grass/mud area. There was no natural vegetation whatsoever around the playground except for one large conifer. The brief was to recreate a green natural environment for the children where they could play, relax, learn and participate in the garden life. The playground was in full sunlight all day long so shade areas were an absolute necessity . The cost of the finished playground estimated at £80,000

The design includes many stunning and innovative features which come as standard with design and construction work from SchoolPlaygroundDesigners.co.uk. These include pergolas with climbing plants, musical pipes, african drums, sensory plants, stunning planting schemes, gazebos, vegetable gardens, wigwams ,wild flower areas in raised planting beds, sand pits, bird boxes and a whole host of activity ideas which infants adore.

Needless to say, all their designs are eco friendly, built from sustainable materials and put nature back into the school playground environment.
