More about this Nursery Design
A key feature of the playground is its sensory planting scheme, which includes seasonal trees, fruit plants, and vegetable gardens.
These elements provide opportunities for hands-on learning, allowing children to engage directly with growth cycles and food production. Secret play areas, shaded corners, and a “Magical Fantasy Nursery Pathway” further enhance imaginative play, creating a sense of adventure and discovery.

The design process was collaborative, incorporating ideas from both staff and pupils. Children’s drawings and suggestions were carefully considered and integrated, ensuring the final space reflected their creativity and needs.
Seating areas, including a circular bench around a mature tree, offer comfort and social spaces for both children and adults. The project has received high praise, including recognition from OFSTED, which described it as a “unique and imaginative children’s paradise.”
Overall, the relandscaped playground successfully blends play, learning, and environmental awareness, setting a benchmark for modern nursery design and demonstrating the powerful impact of thoughtful outdoor spaces on early childhood development.
